Constantly Watchable

If you're at all like me, the 'Holiday Season' means
one thing above all else; staying as far away from the
unwashed masses as is humanly possible!

'Nostalgia' and 'tradition' for me requires revisiting
an old, familiar friend of the cinematic variety.
One of those movies so well-done that it never
grows old--its quality maintains throughout each
additional viewing.

So, if you're looking for a reminder of some
great films that you haven't seen for a while, or
simply are in need of a little 'blast from the past'
that you may have missed, here is a smattering
of some of my favorite.

Maybe you'll enjoy trying out something new,
but most likely this will just remind you of
your own particular repeat-viewing tastes
and send you searching for a means of watching them.

It's all good.
When the world is mad and no one seems
to have a clue, creative endeavors supply
a connection to others in the world who
seem to understand us. (Or at least produce
some quality escapist fare!)

Just remember to take care of yourself
this time of year, whatever that entails!
Happy Viewing Day!

"Call Me Crazy: A Five Film" (event)

If you haven't been watching, Lifetime has a tremendous series of
shorts entitled "CALL ME CRAZY: A FIVE FILM."

The films sport an incredible cast of actresses and directors,
including Ashley Judd, Laura Dern, Jennifer Hudson,
Jennifer Aniston, Brittany Snow, Octavia Spencer,
and many more!

The five short films deal with a range
of different mental health issues through
a single different woman's personal
journey and struggle.

The project was designed to elucidate what
it is to have mental illness (and to deal with a
loved one who has it,) and is designed to erase the
stigma--to start dialogue and healing.

For a more detailed look at the films, the actresses,
and  to get show times for the next movies, check out

Whistle-Blowers (part 1)

First comes scandal, then cover-up, then--
once in a great while--the whistle-blower.

Overlooked, disputed, disappeared, or dead,
these folks are the unsung heroes of the world,
going up against the giants without much hope
or ammunition.

Some of these are based on true events and actual people,
some are speculative (and probably true) accounts
of just a smidgen of the corruption and dispicable nature
of this world.

In the end, it makes for fine, gripping, movie entertainment.
