"Political Animals"

I am Love-Love-LOVING
the new Sunday night Limited Series Event on
the USA Network, "Political Animals."

It boasts a sickeningly superb cast,
headlining Sigourney Weaver, Ellen Burstyn,
Ciaran Hinds, Carla Gugino, and more.
There's also an obnoxiously high 'Hot Man'
ratio (all brilliant actors, as well, I might add)
including Adrian Pasdar, Roger Bart,
Sebastian Stan,  Dan Futterman,
and the oh-so-dreamy
James Wolk.

It's got the drama/soap opera bit down,
the political snip-fest (a la West Wing)
down, there are some funny parts, and it is
a Very robustly raucous, rude, risque, over-the-top
show filled with sensationalism and brass tax.
(Did I mention how much I love it!?)

Enjoy the avalanche of 'similarities' between the
Clintons and the fictional Barrishes!
Sassy done right, every Sunday at 10 p.m.,
or catch the series from the beginning at

"Extremities"

"Extremities" was one of those surprisingly good 'comeback' movies from
the 1980s-- think Cher, Goldie Hawn-- blowing people away with Farrah
Fawcett's acting and the intensity of the storyline.

It also is a rarer film in that most of the action is limited to one locale
and one specific time frame (also due to a recurring theme of the time;
adaptations from great plays being made into movies with less revision
than you're likely to see these days.)

A superb cast and a halting storyline that doesn't miss a beat, this movie
shows modern filmmakers how to compel an audience with direction,
dialogue, acting, and psychological intrigue. Also starring James Russo
and Alfre Woodard.
